# How do I set up Verifactu in the Dashboard?

You complete the setup one time. It takes a few minutes if you have your electronic certificate ready.

Before you start, make sure that you have:

* Your NIF, exactly as registered with AEAT.
* An electronic certificate to sign documents.

## Step 1: Verify your Spanish Value Added Tax number

Go to **Account**, then the **Business** section. Verify your Spanish Value Added Tax number.

The **VeriFactu (Spain)** section appears only after the number is verified.

## Step 2: Enter your NIF

In the **VeriFactu (Spain)** section, enter your NIF and save it.

The Dashboard checks the NIF with AEAT. It then shows the name that AEAT has registered, for example "Registered at the AEAT as ...". Make sure that this name is correct.

|| Type the NIF exactly as registered, with all leading zeros. For example, type 02241836A, not 2241836A. A wrong NIF is the most common cause of a failed setup.

If the Dashboard shows "This NIF is not registered at the Spanish tax agency (AEAT)", examine the number and try again.

## Step 3: Sign the representation mandate

The representation mandate gives Airwallet permission to report your receipts to AEAT on your behalf.

1. At **Entity type**, select **Individual** or **Legal entity**.
2. Fill in your name or company name, exactly as registered with AEAT.
3. Fill in the municipality, the street and the street number.
4. Fill in the details of the person who signs: name, NIF, municipality, street and street number.
5. Click **Download mandate PDF**.
6. Sign the document with your electronic certificate. Use AutoFirma (free, from the Spanish government, linked in the Dashboard) or the free signing function in Adobe.
7. Click **Upload signed PDF** and select the signed document.

|| Do not change the document. Only sign it. All details must be the same as the details in your electronic certificate. If one detail is different, the document is rejected.

## When is the setup complete?

The section shows the **Active** badge and the text "VeriFactu is active". You can download the signed document again at any time with **Download signed document**.

You do not have to do anything more. Airwallet reports your receipts automatically.

## If the setup fails

The badge shows **Rejected** or **Not received**.

1. Examine the NIF. Compare each character with your AEAT registration, including leading zeros.
2. Compare the details in the document with the details in your electronic certificate.
3. Download the mandate PDF again, sign it and upload it again.

| You cannot edit an active NIF. To change it, save a new NIF. The new NIF resets the setup, so you must sign and upload the mandate again.
