# Verifactu: what does it mean for my laundry in Spain?

Verifactu is a Spanish tax rule. Invoices from Spanish businesses must be tamper-proof, carry a QR code, and be reported to the Spanish tax agency (AEAT).

When a user pays for a wash at your location, the sale is from your business to the user. Airwallet issues the receipt for that sale on your behalf. So these receipts fall under Verifactu.

Airwallet has built the compliance into the system. Airwallet reports your receipts to AEAT through a certified provider. You only complete a short setup one time.

## What changes for you

Nothing in your daily business changes. Your prices, payouts, subscription, invoicing and bookkeeping stay the same.

The receipts for washes at your locations become detailed tax invoices with a QR code.

## What you must do

Complete the Verifactu setup in the Dashboard, under **Account**. It has three steps:

1. Verify your Spanish Value Added Tax number.
2. Enter your NIF.
3. Sign the representation mandate and upload it.

When the section shows **Active**, the setup is complete. After that, everything runs automatically.

| The setup is not automatic. Airwallet cannot complete it for you. Each Spanish business must complete it itself, one time.

## Is it mandatory?

Verifactu is a legal requirement for Spanish businesses. Your tax adviser or AEAT can tell you when it applies to your business.

The Airwallet setup is your choice. Airwallet never stops your machines if you do not complete it. But without the setup, Airwallet cannot report your receipts. You must then report these sales to AEAT yourself.
