FAQ: Administrative Fee on Inactive Accounts

What is the administrative fee?

In some countries, Airwallet may apply a small monthly administrative fee to accounts that have been inactive for an extended period. The fee is deducted from your wallet balance.

When does the administrative fee apply?

If your account is inactive for six (6) consecutive months, a monthly administrative fee may be deducted from your remaining balance (depending on your country).

How much is the administrative fee?

The administrative fee is a small monthly charge. The exact amount depends on the applicable terms for your country.

How long will the administrative fee be charged?

The administrative fee continues until one of the following happens:

  • You reactivate your account by using it, or
  • Your wallet balance is depleted (reaches zero).

How do I stop the administrative fee?

You can stop the administrative fee by reactivating your account. Any successful use of your account counts as reactivation.

Why does Airwallet charge an administrative fee?

Inactive accounts create ongoing administrative and operational costs. The administrative fee helps cover the cost of maintaining inactive accounts.

What happens if my balance reaches zero?

If the administrative fee depletes your balance, your wallet balance will be zero and no further administrative fees can be deducted.
