How do I get an Airwallet API key?

You generate your own API keys in the Dashboard. Airwallet never sends you a key.

Follow these four steps.

Get a Dashboard account on the Smart plan or the Business plan. API access is not available on the Basic plan. See Plans.
Send your Dashboard account email address to your Airwallet contact. Ask for developer access.
Airwallet turns on developer access. A Developer section then appears in the Dashboard under Settings.
Open that section and generate your key pair: an API key and a secret key.

Your software sends both keys with every request.

Store the secret key safely at the moment you create it. Airwallet shows the secret key one time only. The Dashboard keeps a short prefix for your own reference, not the key itself. If you lose the secret key, generate a new pair.

If you give a software vendor access to your Airwallet data, generate the key pair yourself and send it to the vendor over a secure channel. Do not share your Dashboard password.
