Non-Vended OPL Machine - Installing the Airwallet

This document will walk you through the process of installing your Airwallet Pro300 to your OPL machine. This guide is for the following machines:

·         OPL Washer or Dryer with MECHANICAL start switch.

This connection will make the start button available for a period of time so that the user will be able to restart the machine should the need arise. You are bridging the switch with the Airwallet unit to make it available to a user only when payment has been tendered.

ATTENTION: The machine must have a mechanical start switch, and this guide will NOT work with a machine with a membrane start button.

What is needed:

  • Airwallet Pro300
  • 3 – Female Spade Crimp Connectors
  • 3 – Male Spade Crimp Connectors
  • 2 – 4-inch strips of 20ga Wire

Fixed ➜ Pulse operated
pulse length: Variable dependent on switch availability needs, pulse repetition: 1, busy signal: None

Recommended Machine Setup

Machines should be set for a fixed cycle time as this method of connection simply makes the unit available for a set amount of time and variable times would not be charged correctly.

Installing Airwallet Unit

WARNING! Disconnect power or turn off breaker prior to performing this installation.

1.        You will need to create 2 harnesses to assist in the installation of this kit. The (2) 4 inch wires should be terminated with a female spade connector on one end and a male spade connector on the other end as shown below:

2.      Open the front control panel to expose the rear of the start switch.

3.      Locate the wires connected to the back of the start switch and remove one of the wires.

4.      Connect one of the created harnesses to the spade connection on the switch.

5.      Connect the remaining created harness to the end of the disconnected harness from the machine.

6.      Attach the remaining male and female spade connectors to the Airwallet unit wires 3 and 4.

7.       Plug wires 3 and 4 into the created harness connections.

8.      Connect wires 1 and 2 on the Airwallet unit to the L and N on the AC power source inside the machine. You may need to tap directly into the incoming power on the back of the machine.

9.      Cut and cap any remaining wires on the Airwallet unit that are not being used to avoid any shorts.
10.   If the Dashboard programming has not been done prior, make sure to note the serial number or take pictures of the label on the bottom of the PRO300 unit.

11.     Mount the Airwallet unit inside the machine using the mounting tape. It is recommended to mount the reader inside the front panel close to the control board or on the outside back of the machine to ensure a quality connection.
12.    Once you have confirmed all connections are made, and the serial numbers are gathered you can reassemble the machine and proceed to the software setup.
